There are numerous people in the sports world who can’t stand Shannon Sharpe, and you can add the entire Memphis Grizzlies team to that list.
Sharpe has made a living in his post-NFL career talking critically about athletes alongside the equally-controversial Skip Bayless. I’m not sure if there was something he said about the Grizzlies team previously, but tensions between the two sides appeared to be awfully high during halftime of Friday night’s game between Memphis and the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena.
At one point, Shannon Sharpe could be seen standing at his courtside seat yelling something at the Memphis players. Dillon Brooks and Ja Morant appeared to respond with some words of their own, which only added fuel to Sharpe’s fire.
The Hall Of Famer appeared to be calling the team over to do something to his face, and first to respond was Grizzlies forward Steven Adams, who along with the rest of the team, had to be held back by security.
Even Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, got involved by engaging in a shouting match with Sharpe.
The former NFL tight end was finally escorted out of the arena. No word on what exactly caused the altercation, but there are several videos that show what happened.

Thankfully, cooler heads eventually prevailed and Sharpe was allowed to return to his seat for the second half. He even shared a moment with Tee Morant, as the two hugged it out and let bygones be bygones.
