Last night, we were nearly treated to Crypto.com Arena’s version of “Malice At The Palace,” as former NFL tight end and current sports talk show host Shannon Sharpe got into it with the entire Memphis Grizzlies team and Ja Morant’s dad during halftime of their game against the Lakers.
Several cameras caught the altercation, as Sharpe appeared to be shouting at the entire Grizzlies bench to come over and fight him. At one point, Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, even got involved and had to be held back.
Cooler heads eventually prevailed and both parties were separated, with security escorting Sharpe out of his seat.
He was eventually able to return for the second half, and he even shared a hug with Tee Morant as the two men hashed things out.
Sharpe spoke about the altercation with ESPN’s Dave McMenamin at halftime, saying it all started after he taunted Memphis guard Dillon Brooks.

“They didn’t want this smoke, Dave. They do all that talking and jockeying and I ain’t about that jockeying. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too small to guard LeBron. He said, ‘F—‘ me. I said, ‘F—‘ you back. He started to come at me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’ And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then the dad came and he obviously didn’t want no problems. But I wanted anything they had. Don’t let these fools fool you now.”
Sharpe must have been feeling pretty tough, but showing up to games and trying to start fights with players isn’t exactly the best look for him.
As for Tee Morant, he told TNT’s Chris Haynes that he and Sharpe were “good” and that he had “nothing but love” for the Undisputed host.
