Shannon Sharpe has also accused Ja Morant of employing ChatGPT after reading the Memphis Grizzlies star’s latest apology.
Morant, who was somehow caught waving a handgun during another Instagram Live video just two months removed from the first incident that landed him in trouble with the league, has issued an apology (via Adrian Wojnarowski) after getting suspended from all team activities by the Memphis Grizzlies.
The apology, which surfaced on Tuesday night, reads:
“I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do. My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I’m committed to continuing to work on myself.”
Of course, no one’s buying it this time and Morant has even been accused of using the aforementioned AI generator to come up with it. Fans have offered their evidence online but Sharpe has gone on live television with a similar take, pointing out that’s just not how Ja talks.

The NBA suspended Morant for eight games, including time served, for his original infraction. And the league is now expected to go to certain extremes now that he’s done pretty much the same thing again.
Commissioner Adam Silver has also appeared on ESPN to discuss the matter, revealing he had lengthy talks with the Grizzlies superstar, highlighting the potential consequences of his actions. Silver seemed genuinely hurt and ashamed, claiming he was shocked to see the latest video of Ja flashing a gun on social media after all of their discourse.
The league is yet to announce a punishment for the point guard. But he is expected to be out for a significant number of games after becoming a repeat offender.
