Rasheed Wallace believes Jimmy Butler would be better suited to stay with the Heat rather than go elsewhere, much like Kobe took advantage of the mild weather in Los Angeles. Rumors of a possible breakup have cast uncertainty on the 34-year-old’s future.
But Rasheed thinks Butler should do everything he can to remain with the Heat and keep his family in Florida’s tropical climate.
Wallace said in latest podcast of “Sheed & Taylor” (5:15): “It’s a big difference between a cold city and a hot city. So with him [Butler] down there in Miami, sh*t, I would stay in Miami and set your sh*t up down there. I don’t think he’ll come back to Philadelphia.”
The Philadelphia 76ers, Jimmy Butler’s last team, and other teams have been vying for a deal as the six-time All-Star is one of the top trade targets this summer. But why would I leave such a favorable place if I were Butler?
Butler is enjoying some good privileges in his circumstances. It is much like Kobe and other stars in warm, affluent areas, and things don’t get much better. Rasheed knows how important it may be to change the player experience. Because he has seen athletes spend their entire careers without this experience.
If the Sixers Close a Deal With the Heat, They Would Offer Jimmy Butler a Maximum Contract Extension
Jimmy Butler was traded by the Philadelphia 76ers to the Miami Heat five years ago in a sign-and-trade that they would later regret. The Sixers are now preparing for a possible reunion. According to insider rumors, the Sixers would not only be interested in Butler in the event that he forced a trade from the Heat this summer. However, they would also give Butler a max deal.

Naturally, a deal of this nature would take a long time and involve many moving pieces. The Sixers have more than enough salary room this summer—roughly $65 million—to sign a max player. There’s no denying their interest in Paul George, who has not signed a contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers. PG also has a player option for the next season.
Jimmy Butler’s contract pays $48.8 million for the next season. However, he has a player option that pays $52.4 million for 2025–2026. He reportedly asked Miami for a two-year, $113 million maximum deal.
