Scottie Pippen had a great NBA career which lasted 17 seasons and was filled with a number of great accomplishments, individual awards and, most importantly, team success. Pippen was a six time NBA Champion with the Bulls, two time Olympic Gold Medalist with team U.S.A. and was named an All Star on seven occasions.
Known for his stellar defense, he was also named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team an incredible eight consecutive seasons. However, one award that eluded Pippen in his career was being named NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Something that he recently blamed on playing aside Michael Jordan.
Appearing on the Trash Talk Production Podcast, Pippen was asked why he thought he never won that award to which he responded “I think they were too busy watching Michael”
Pippen appears to feel quite disrespected recently. Ever since “The Last Dance” documentary about the 90’s era Chicago Bulls aired on ESPN two years ago, he has taken multiple shots at his former teammate. There is no shame in playing second fiddle to Jordan, as he is widely regarded as the G.O.A.T. in basketball.
Hopefully these two can bury the hatchet and move on and be remembered for the incredible things they did on the court together, rather than the shots that have been taken off the court.
