The 76th edition of the NBA Draft is set to take place Thursday evening at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Barring any trades, the Sacramento Kings are scheduled to pick fourth. Based on their recent history of drafting, whoever they pick will be a bust and the next player selected will be a bonafide superstar.
As seen in the tweet below, on three separate occasions over the last decade the Kings have selected a player who, let’s just say, has not exactly panned out. And to make matters worse, the very next picks have been, Klay Thompson, Damian Lillard and Luka Doncic, three all stars who are all likely headed to the Hall Of Fame.
This past season, the Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs for a record breaking sixteenth consecutive season. They will need to start hitting on some of these lottery picks if they plan on breaking that streak anytime soon.
