In 38 seasons in Sacramento, the Kings have produced just nine winning seasons, and this past season, the team went to the playoffs for the first time since 2006, ending the longest playoff drought in NBA history.
Now they are looking to take another major step.
The Sacramento Kings have emerged as a potential trade destination for Bradley Beal, sources tell Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Beal would possibly consider waiving his no-trade clause for a deal with the Kings.
Beal averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in his 11th campaign with the Wizards in 2022-23. Beal has seen individual success since joining Washington in 2012, but nothing playoff-wise.
He is a three-time All-Star, and his career 22.1 points per game ranks 16th among active players.

The Wizards have missed the playoffs six times during his time there and when they do go, it ends with an early playoff exit.
A trade now could benefit both sides, sending Beal to a competitive playoff team while helping the Wizards rebuild without the limitation of a $46.7 million cap hit.
The Kings put together one of the best offenses in the league last season without a player as expensive as Beal, but he may be the one guy who could get them over the top and go deep in the playoffs.
Whichever team grabs Beal will undoubtedly consider themselves in win-now mode.
