Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara were embarrassingly ignored by Jamal Murray following the Denver Nugget’s NBA Championship win on Monday night.
The stars were out at the Ball Arena for Game 5, with the aforementioned couple, his coach Sean Payton and his wife, as well as Peyton Manning in attendance to watch the Nuggets seal their first title win in franchise history.
Denver won 94-89 on the night, closing out the series with a 4-1 gentleman’s sweep. And, as you would expect, the atmosphere was quite party-like inside the building.
The Broncos QB stood outside the tunnel with his wife and other fans while the players made their way in and ended up getting overlooked after holding out his hand, with Murray walking right past him.

Of course, that couldn’t have been intentional. The point guard had just won an NBA title, his first one, and was soaking it in. He’s very likely to have been dazed at the time, plus all of the noise and cheering around him must have made it a lot harder for him to notice individuals.

Wilson could have also made a better effort to get Jamal’s attention, so he probably has himself to blame. But he was also a bit busy with his phone and simply did not have enough time to prep himself.
