Russell Westbrook is sick and tired of Skip Bayless calling him out of his name.
Westbrook is a player that has often been criticized during this season for his poor performances for the Los Angeles Lakers. It earned him the nickname of ‘Westbrick,’ and he really does not like it.
Previously, Russell Westbrook made a statement where he said that the “Westbrick” nickname to him is now “shaming”.
“It really hit me the other day. Me and wife were at the teacher-parent conference for my son. And the teacher told me, Noah is so proud of his last name, he writes it everywhere, he tells everyone ‘I’m Westbrook’… I kind of sat there in shock and it hit me. I can’t no longer allow people, for example, Westbrick to me is now shaming, shaming my name and my legacy for my kid. It’s a name that means more to me, my wife, my mom, my dad, the ones that paved the way for me.”
One of Russell Westbrook’s biggest detractors is NBA analyst Skip Bayless. He was back at it disrespecting Russell on Twitter, and the Lakers guard fired right back at him.

Westbrook responded to Skip Bayless using the “Westbrick” nickname, telling the analyst to “watch your mouth” and not say anything on Twitter that he “wouldn’t say” to Westbrook’s face.
Westbrook is coming off a down season with the Lakers. He struggled to find his shot all season, averaging 18.5 points per game, one of the lowest totals of his career.
Lakers vice president of basketball operations and general manager Rob Pelinka said he and new head coach Darvin Ham have spoken to Westbrook multiple times this offseason about his role.
Westbrook has a decision to make this offseason. He can test the free-agent market or he can pick up an option to remain with the Lakers. That option is $47 million, so it should be fairly easy to see where he’ll be going.
