Russell Westbrook is the last man standing from the big three that went to the NBA Finals and lost to the Miami Heat.
He has sat and watched as James Harden has gotten traded, Kevin Durant leave in free agency, and now watch as Paul George basically force his way off the team to play alongside Kawhi Leonard.
After receiving a hefty package from the Los Angeles Clippers, the OKC Thunder might be headed into full rebuild mode. That also includes the possibility of trading Russell Westbrook.
Via ESPN:
Oklahoma City All-Star guard Russell Westbrook and his agent, Thad Foucher, are engaged with Thunder general manager Sam Presti about the next steps of Westbrook’s career, including the possibility of a trade before the start of next season, league sources told ESPN.
The two sides have 11 years of history together, and both understand that the time has likely come to explore trade possibilities for Westbrook, league sources said.
Westbrook has four years and $170 million left on his contract, so it will prove to be extremely hard to move him.
