Russell Westbrook knows a change needs to be made.
Westbrook has reportedly asked head coach Ty Lue to come off the bench for the LA Clippers. Westbrook’s hope is that this move will help the Clippers find some continuity with their starting lineup.
In the wake of the James Harden trade, the Clippers are 0-5 and have lost six straight games overall. The offense has lacked a lot of spacing and Westbrook is trying his best to fix the situation.
Head coach Tyronn Lue had just stated this week that getting accomplished players to sacrifice and buy into reduced roles is his toughest challenge as a head coach. Westbrook just made the decision so much easier for him.
This is the second straight year that Westbrook began the season as a starter before accepting a reserve role early into the season.

Westbrook came off the bench in 49 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, before being traded to and bought out by the Utah Jazz.
The Clippers are 3-7 on the year.
