On Thursday, Stephen A. Smith set social media on fire when he said “Russell Westbrook and James Harden don’t want to play with each other anymore.”
But the nine-time NBA All-Star and 2017 MVP is denying that after social media users noticed him commenting underneath ESPN’s Instagram graphic showing that quote:
“It’s my birthday, but I should say. This is completely fabricated. Y’all have a good night.”
It should also be noted that Westbrook did not deny the trade request. Westbrook is under contract for at least two more seasons, so the Rockets are not obligated to move him at all.
As you may know, there are already reports of the Clippers and Rockets discussing a mega trade centered around Paul George and Russell Westbrook.
