Jimmy Butler’s actions have caused him to have sour relations with the Miami Heat organization, and it seems his teammates are fed up with him, too. According to Rachel Nichols, who appeared on ‘Open Floor: SI’s NBA Show,’ Butler’s teammates have had enough of him and feel insulted.
Butler previously claimed he held a grudge against the Heat’s top administration rather than his teammates. The six-time All-Star claimed that although they are his buddies, his deeds speak louder than words. But here is what Rachel Nichols has to say.
Nichols reveals, “Jimmy — if he wanted to be traded from Miami. He had all of the incentive in the world to be fabulous the last couple of months. To be a team guy, to have the right attitude, to play through injuries, to show up, increase his trade value, increase the number of teams who wanted him, and get out of town. If that is what he wanted because he wasn’t going to get this extension, he had every single personal selfish incentive to do that,”
Nichols added, “Instead, not only has he been such a problem for management — I talked to guys in that locker room, and to say they have had it is an understatement, because he has disrespected them so much. The way he’s been in and out,” Nichols added. “… The way he’s been acting toward people in their locker room, I mean staff or other people like that, and then the stunt with making them wait for hours on the tarmac?” (starts at 35:33)
Nichols’ final point was that the Heat jet had to wait several hours for Butler on the tarmac. If it’s true that he didn’t tell anyone where he went, fans can see why his teammates were furious.
Jimmy Butler’s Dream Trade To Phoenix Suns ‘Stalled’ For Now
There is now just one realistic yet hazardous strategy that may propel the Suns into the running for a spot in 2025. And it goes straight to Jimmy Butler, the divisive Miami Heat player. He has the defensive grit and clutch gene that the Suns can utilize in the postseason. In turn, the 35-year-old needs them.
Because of Butler’s erratic temperament and expiring contract, few teams feel compelled to take a chance on him. Phoenix is desperate enough to try to get a blockbuster before the NBA trade deadline on February 6th. To achieve this, though, they need Bradley Beal’s assistance.

The organization would depend on him to make the money in a potential Butler deal, so he has complete control. Because of his contract, the veteran has much control over his future and, consequently, the Suns.
