Chicago Bulls’ small forward DeMar DeRozan’s future with the team is in question as he approaches free agency this summer. Recently, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints highlighted the uncertainty surrounding DeRozan’s next move.
Siegel suggests that DeRozan may explore offers from rival teams before being on the table with the Bulls.
“Rival teams are anticipating that DeMar DeRozan will hear out offers that come his way when the free agency period begins potentially leading to a departure from Chicago,” Siegel reported.
Initially, DeRozan was expected to re-sign with the Bulls. However, reports later surfaced that he got a two-year, $80 million contract extension, which he turned down.
The 24-year-old Bulls player is coming off another impressive season. In 79 regular-season games, he averaged 24 points, 5.3 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.

“The runner-up for Clutch Player of the Year after finishing third last year, DeMar DeRozan is aging like a fine wine, putting up a 24/5/4 stat line in 2023-24 and remaining one of the best midrange scorers in the NBA today,” Urbina wrote.
“DeRozan is building up his Hall of Fame resume, as he’s about to enter the Top 30 in scoring in NBA history and with his game aging as well as it has so far, we should see a few more seasons of good basketball out of the Compton native,” Urbina concluded.
The six-time All-Star, who recently shared his daughter’s hilarious courtside antics, still has a lot left in the tank. Unless the Bulls make a significant move this offseason, DeRozan will likely explore other opportunities in free agency.
