The Wizards found themselves on the receiving end of another hammering season. With less than 20 wins in the regular season, it’s time to rebuild and that doesn’t bode well for Kyle Kuzma.
According to Sam Amick, Kuzma remains an enticing option on the trade block for the Kings. The Sacramento side has been on the tail of the forward for months now, including the trade window in February.
Kuzma impressed this season, especially the Kings’ front office. Next season will be the second year in his four-year $90,000,000 contract.
With the interest remaining high, this could be an opportunity for the Wizards to trade their star man for a sustainable future.
Will Kyle Kuzma Trade Help Wizards?
This would be an important one for the Wizards, given that their starting point guard, Tyus Jones, is heading toward free agency. With the trade of Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis last year, the Washington team acquired numerous first-round draft picks, one of which is their second pick this year.
With that they’ll potentially go for Alex Sarr. The center has been heavily tipped towards the Wizards after declining workouts with the Hawks.

But this won’t be their only gain. With the future first-round picks, they can get more top prospects to build the team around the young core of players. Kyle Kuzma, at 28, would be a prime target for any championship-aspiring team, and the Wizards, in return, can get multiple picks for the future.
Kuzma averaged 22.2 points per game from 46.3% field shooting and grabbed 6.6 rebounds. He is by far their most significant piece going into the summer, but keeping him on a losing team makes no sense if there’s no supporting cast. To acquire that, the first step will certainly be trading Kuzma for a self-sustaining future.
