Imagine watching LeBron James and Steph Curry playing together! Now, for starters, this team-up has already happened at the Olympics. And we all have witnessed how fearsome that turned out to be. But is the duo donning the same colors in the NBA? That is some crazy stuff! Surprisingly, this is precisely what the rumor mills are churning out recently.
With much confusion regarding James’ future with the Lakers, the Golden State Warriors have continued monitoring proceedings. As a matter of fact, the Warriors approached King James last season for a possible trade. Unfortunately for the GSW fans, their dreams were dashed when the 3x NBA champion declined the offer. However, in a fresh update from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, reports of James reconsidering the trade have gone viral.
“I’m very interested in all this. I would be lying if I said that there haven’t been some conversations in the league (about), ‘Would LeBron at some point this year revisit that?’ Because you remember last year at the trade deadline, the Warriors called,” Windhorst said. However, he was quick to point out that there would be a significant amount of complications that needs to be addressed.

Firstly, the finance available to the Golden State Warriors is a big issue. The Warriors have a potential purse of $500,000 more to spend for the season. And in all probability, the amount would not be enough to secure a deal with the 39-year-old. But that’s not all. Despite James’ retirement rumors going strong, there are other factors affecting the deal, too.
LeBron James Has A No-Trade Clause
Windhorst pointed out that James had the opportunity to switch his jerseys at least twice in the past 10 months. Apart from the trade offer from the Warriors, the 3x NBA MVP also became a free agent last summer. But instead of searching for other teams, James chose to sign with the Lakers. Thus, this is a telltale sign that the NBA legend wants to retire as a Lakers.
LeBron James to the Warriors isn't as crazy as it sounds:

Add to that his no-trade clause. This meant no team could ask him to leave without taking or consulting with the legend. In the past three occasions when James changed teams, it was solely based on the decision of the 39-year-old himself. Thus, realistically, it looks unlikely that LeBron James will consider switching to the Warriors. However, to know what will happen in the future, we will have to wait and watch.
