Imagine this.
The Los Angeles Lakers, after so many years without a top talent on the team, finally got one to come to town when LeBron agreed to a deal, but it almost failed immediately when the franchise was ready to part ways with him in the first year.
The Pelicans reportedly blamed the Lakers for leaking Anthony Davis trade-talk details that went crazy and began the Lakers descend into the pit of the Western Conference.
In doing so, Jeanie Buss essentially blamed LeBron’s agent and it had her furious to the point that she actually thought about trading Bron.
Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report:
The subject of moving James, however, was contemplated by the Lakers, a team source said, weeks before Van Gundy aired it. When rumors engulfed the team at the February trade deadline that it was willing to trade anyone other than James to acquire All-Star forward Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, James’ agent, Rich Paul, was widely accused of spreading those rumors because Davis is also one of his clients. Paul denied to B/R that he leaked the Lakers’ interest in Davis, but Buss suspected otherwise and was furious. The idea of terminating the franchise’s relationship with Paul by moving James at least crossed Buss’ mind, the team source said, and Paul was made aware of that. That prompted Paul to reach out to Buss to clear the air, and whatever ill will existed supposedly dissipated.
While this might seem crazy, you have to consider the history of Jeanie who actually fired her own brother to help the Lakers franchise get LeBron James.

Be that as it may, the Lakers pulling off a move like that could be quite detrimental for the future and put them even more in a bind to return back to the winning franchise that they used to be.
