Rui Hachimura is enjoying his new role at the Los Angeles Lakers outfit. Hachimura has been notching up some exquisite performances that have upped his three-peat shooting to an impressive 45.2 percent. Interestingly, the number is also the best he has done so far in his career. Upping the ante even more, the 26-year-old has a whopping 75 percent shooting from the distance. And all these sparkling numbers are a result of JJ Redick’s mastermind plan of playing small ball.
At least, that’s what Hachimura thinks. “It’s small-ball, but you just still got to be more physical than the other team. We got to play faster and then we got to shoot more threes. That was the key that we talked about, especially the threes part because that’s now going to open up the floor,” said a confident Hachimura per a report on ClutchPoints.

Delving further into the matter, the 26-year-old mentioned that most of the Lakers’ athletes are comfortable with three-peat shooting. Claiming himself significantly faster than most NBA athletes, Hachimura stated that small ball play has helped the team significantly. Recently, Hachimura’s exceptional game awareness saved the day for Anthony Davis and the Lakers.
Rui Hachimura Covers For Anthony Davis In Late Lakers Assist
The Lakers barely crossed the line in a recent matchup against the Sacramento Kings. Securing a 103-99 victory, LeBron James and co. kept the breathing space alive for themselves. However, things might have gone awry had not Rui Hachimura saved the day. With just 12 seconds left on the clock, Anthony Davis shockingly fumbled two free throws.

With the score of 101-99 well within reach, it was Hachimura who chipped in. Getting a clutch offensive rebound, the 26-year-old quickly gave Austin Reaves a golden opportunity. Much to the delight of the Lakers, Reaves converted both free throws to take the Lakers over the line.
