The Los Angeles Lakers are gearing up for a playoff run and things just got much easier for them.
Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert will miss Minnesota’s AT&T Play-In Tournament opener after being suspended one game by the team. It all stemmed from an altercation he had with his teammate near the bench.
Gobert threw a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson during a timeout in the second quarter Sunday against New Orleans. He could be seen doing as his head coach was kneeling to call the next play. He raised his arm toward Anderson and appeared to hit him in the chest as players and coaches separated the two and Gobert was escorted to the locker room.
Minnesota somehow still won that game.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers played and won their final regular season game of the year when they defeated the Utah Jazz in Los Angeles, California. After a slow start to the season, they have completely turned things around and are the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a 43-39 record in 82 games. The Wolves beat the Pelicans 113-108 to finish in eighth place in the Western Conference.
For the Lakers to make it into the playoffs, they must first get through the play-in tournament after finishing the regular season in seventh position in the Western Conference.

They take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Gobert will be available to play if the Wolves lose in the Play-In to the Lakers or advance to the Western Conference playoffs.
