Dwight Howard and his relationship with ex-partner Royce Reed has long been in the public talks. And there were multiple back and forths between the former partners that have taken the internet by surprise. And Reed’s recent revelation has stuck the cord once again.
During a recent appearance on Cam Newton’s ‘Freaky Friday,’ Royce Reed made serious allegations against Howard. According to her, Dwithg manipulated their young son by negatively portraying LeBron James in light of Kobe Bryant’s tragic death. Reed recounted a troubling conversation she had with Howard, claiming he asserted that LeBron displayed no emotion upon learning of Kobe’s passing while on a plane with their team.
“He said that LeBron was not really crying or sad about Kobe passing. He said, on the plane, he had no emotion and he was just chilling. Everybody on the plane was upset and LeBron was just straight face. He said the only time he was emotional was when he walked off the plane,” Reed said.
She also alleged that Howard aksed her to leave after she said so and so about LeBron. And Reed validated her reason for concern by saying the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is her son’s idol. Reed later revealed that it was during the early days of the pandemic that she moved in with Howard, only to find their living situation excessively toxic.
She described Howard as a manipulative figure and a narcissist. According to her, his comments about LeBron weren’t merely offhand remarks but rather part of a calculated effort to change how their son viewed a beloved athlete.

This comes after Reed made various allegations about Howard, including sensitive topics such as his sexuality and their tumultuous co-parenting journey regarding their son, Braylon. Reed’s comments have reignited an already contentious relationship between her and Howard, which lasted three years.
It has been marred by numerous lawsuits and public disputes since their breakup. She detailed how Howard allegedly tried to silence her during her time on the reality show ‘Basketball Wives’ by employing multiple lawyers to restrict her from discussing him publicly. With both individuals continually drawing attention to their past, the situation has overshadowed Howard’s impending wedding to rapper Amy Luciani.
