RJ Barrett’s brother Nathan Barrett was a young and aspiring basketball athlete. He dreamed of following in his brother’s footsteps and joining the NBA as a professional basketball player. He played for the Montverde Academy in Florida. The Barrett brothers have had basketball roots in their family from the very start.
Their father Rowan Barrett is the general manager of Canada Basketball. Nathan’s childhood coach Chris Stewart paid a tribute to the younger Barrett on Instagram. He posted a photo and wrote, “Nathan was only with us for a short time in grade 7. He moved to Florida but when he was back in Mississauga the boys connected. No parent should ever have to bury their child, hug your kids today a little bit longer. You will be missed Nathan, RIP.“

How Nathan passed away?
The official details about the passing of Nathan have not been made public yet. Nathan was four years younger than RJ Barrett and the sadness of losing a younger brother is immense. The Barrett family issued a statement on the unfortunate incident.
“While our family is devastated with this huge loss, we continue to cherish all the memories and time we spent together. Nathan was a God-fearing young man with a strong character. He was thoughtful, loving, kind, compassionate, admirable, creative, and driven,” said the Barrett family.
They asked the people to let them mourn the death of their young one in privacy. They also thanked the people for their love, support, and condolences. “We greatly appreciate the outpouring of love, support, and all the prayers that we have been receiving.” RJ Barrett was traded to the Raptors earlier this season in exchange for OG Anunoby. He has shined for Toronto and is currently their second-best scorer this season.
