While LeBron James focuses on his son Bronny James’ basketball careers, his agent, Rich Paul, the CEO of Klutch Sports, is equally occupied with managing LeBron’s professional future. During a segment on TNT’s alternate broadcast of the Dallas Mavericks versus Minnesota Timberwolves game on Friday, Paul made a startling comment that caught the analysts and LeBron’s fans off guard.
Paul referred to LeBron as a free agent during the broadcast, suggesting he might soon be exploring new opportunities.
“LeBron is a free agent. You have to decide, and I gotta focus on his business. Let the Lakers hire whoever they want to hire. And he’s always, he’s always showed up and played for whatever coach is there,” Paul said.
Paul’s comment did not go unnoticed, as the show’s analysts quickly reacted. Chris Haynes, in particular, prompted Paul to clarify his statement. Nevertheless, Paul swiftly attempted to shift the conversation away from the slip-up.
With NBA free agency set to begin on June 30 at 6 p.m. ET, the basketball community is abuzz. It is widely anticipated that the Los Angeles Lakers icon will decline his player option for the upcoming season and enter the free agency market. This decision could have major consequences for the Lakers and the NBA as a whole, especially considering LeBron’s $51.4 million player option for the 2023-24 season.
Draymond Green Calls Out Skip Bayless for Constant LeBron James Criticism
LeBron James’ journey to the basketball court is anything but typical. After growing up without a father, lacking formal education, and missing out on early professional training, LeBron defied the odds to forge an illustrious basketball career. Despite his outstanding career, he continues to face harsh criticism from sports commentator Skip Bayless.

However, not everyone shares Bayless’s critical view of LeBron. During an appearance on the “Big Pod with Shaq,” Draymond Green passionately defended LeBron against Bayless’s relentless criticisms.
“The biggest hater outside the NBA is Skip Bayless, for sure I hope I give him a soundbite for his show because it’s dying. When you’re hating on LeBron James every single day,” Green said.
Like Green stated, off the court, LeBron’s character remains as commendable as his on-court achievements. He has never been arrested, avoided drug use, and maintained a clean personal life, free from scandals.
