With the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid will probably be accompanied by a drastically altered group in the upcoming campaign. Four players on the club with active contracts, including “The Process.” Naturally, Tyrese Maxey, a restricted free agent, will be the first player on Philly’s signing priority list.
Philadelphia has plenty of money to pursue rotation guys and another star. As the centerpieces of the team, Embiid and Maxey, free agents, may swarm to the City of Brotherly Love to play alongside each other. It looks like the perfect situation to play for coach Nick Nurse with the talented duo.
NBA expert Jake Fischer discussed the 76ers’ predicament on the Yahoo! Sports podcast “No Cap Room”: “I’ve heard from multiple agents that if their client wants to go to the Sixers, they are going to be advising that guy; ‘are you sure you want to hitch your wagon to Joel Embiid who has never proven to be healthy in the post-season’”
After tearing the lateral meniscus in his left knee in January, Embiid was out for almost eight weeks. Late in the regular season, he made a comeback to assist the Philadelphia 76ers in securing the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.
“The Process” was not robust despite posting outstanding numbers against the New York Knicks in the playoffs. The incident in which he was hampered gave Sixers fans nightmares throughout previous postseasons.
Klay Thompson & Paul George Are One of the Stars to Play With Joel Embiid Next Season
Paul George is the most desirable player the Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly pursuing. A $48 million player option is attached to George for the 2024–2025 campaign. To become an unrestricted free agent, he must opt-in or refuse by June 29.

George may go to Philadelphia if he and the LA Clippers cannot agree on a new or extended contract. George will blend very well with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid. If the 76ers can acquire him, they will have one of the top trios in the NBA next season.
Another seasoned celebrity who could be keen to collaborate with “The Process” is Klay Thompson. The Golden State Warriors declined to extend him before the Dubs’ season ended in the play-in round. Nick Nurse might also include him in his system as a supporting cast member for the squad.
