The Golden State Warriors are absolutely terrible this year. That is expected once you lose a guy like Kevin Durant in free agency, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to injury.
The team is currently 12-43 on the year, which is the worst record in the entire league.
These shocking turn of events has fans not tuning in to watch the dumpster fire and has resulted in a dramatic decrease in viewership, according to Sports Business Journal.
The Golden State Warriors saw their local ratings decline by a staggering 66% on NBC Sports Bay Area. That is actually the second-largest decline in the league, with the Denver Nuggets being down 72%, but that’s because they are having carriage issues.
There has been an overall decrease of 13% for league-wide national broadcasts, but the Warriors really hurt for a team who have had five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals and three titles.
That number will explode back up during the 2020-2021 campaign with their stars coming back fully healthy, not to mention the team just might have the #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.
