The Brooklyn Nets continue to make waves in the NBA trade market this season. Recent reports suggested that their star forward Cameron Johnson could be the next player on the move.
The Nets have already been active in trades this season. According to Sam Amico of The Athletic, the Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder are aggressively pursuing Johnson.

Earlier in the season, the Nets sent Dennis Schroder to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for De’Anthony Melton and future draft picks. More recently, they traded Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton to the Los Angeles Lakers, acquiring D’Angelo Russell, Maxwell Lewis, and three future second-round picks.
Cameron Johnson has been a significant contributor for the Nets since joining the team midway through the 2022-23 season. This year, he has elevated his game, averaging 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game. His scoring ability and versatility have made him a valuable asset for the Nets and an attractive target for other teams.
Before his time with the Nets, Johnson spent four and a half seasons with the Phoenix Suns, where he developed into a reliable player. The Minnesota Timberwolves originally drafted Johnson with the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Nevertheless, he was traded to the Suns on draft night, where he began his professional journey.

The injury occurred against the Milwaukee Bucks, and Johnson’s status remains uncertain for the upcoming games. It is confirmed that Johnson will miss at least three contests while the team evaluates his recovery. As reported by Erik Slater of ClutchPoints, his status will be reassessed before the Nets’ game against Denver.
With Johnson sidelined, the Nets will rely on other players to step up. Jalen Wilson and Ziaire Williams are among those who could see an increased role in the rotation during Johnson’s absence.
