The NBA trade deadline has ended. And we have been treated to some exhilarating moments during this phase recently. Firstly, there was the blockbuster deal that saw Anthony Davis fly to Dallas and Luka Doncic join forces with LeBron James for the Los Angeles Lakers. Next up, there was Jimmy Butler, finally finding a new home after his fallout with the Miami Heat. Now, with recent reports emerging, it is evident that there was a possibility of Trae Young getting into the mix as well.
As per NBA insider Chris Haynes, the San Antonio Spurs were reportedly interested in a move for Young. Haynes mentioned that before going in for De’Aaron Fox, the Spurs had eyes for Trae Young.
“So there was never a hurry to bring in an established point guard to move on to the next phase. De’Aaron Fox kinda fell in their lap, and he picked them as the sole team he wanted to play with, so they chose him. It was a much easier route to get De’Aaron. But Trae Young was on the San Antonio Spurs’ radar,” said Haynes on NBA TV.

However, now that the deadline has passed, there is very little possibility for Trae Young to receive any more trade offers. Meanwhile, despite having a decent season so far, the Atlanta Hawks’ star was omitted from the reserves list of the NBA All-Star game. And this, apparently, did not sit well with Young.
Trae Young Reacts On All-Star Snub
While the entire NBA All-Star roster is all set, one notable name was missing from the list. It was that of Trae Young. Now, with the omission this year, Young has become the only player to miss an All-Star selection. And it is despite averaging 20 points and 10 assists in more than one season. Thus, it is evident that Young was not happy with how things turned out.
“& it’s no longer getting “snubbed” it’s getting “Traed” at this point. Sorry to my fans.. it’ll change eventually! All right, talk soon!” wrote Young on his X account.

Surely, it is clear that Trae Young took his omission with a pinch of salt. Now, it remains to be seen how he performs in the rest of the games.
