You’d have to think that at least two-thirds of the league are seriously considering making a push for Kevin Durant. But how many teams can realistically put together a package that’s intriguing enough for the Brooklyn Nets to part ways with their star?
This weekend, it was being reported that the Boston Celtics could offer up guards Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart, along with some draft picks, in exchange for KD.
That would be a pretty tough package to beat, but apparently there’s one team out there who thinks they can top all other suitors with their trade offer for the two-time NBA Finals MVP.
It was previously reported that the Raps were “lurking” in the Kevin Durant Sweepstakes. Well, according to Sportsnet’s Michael Grange, Toronto is not only lurking. They actually feel like they can put together a better package than any other team out there. And that’s not all!
Grange also points out that there’s reason to believe Durant is “at least open to the possibility of playing in Toronto.”
“I can confirm that not only are the Raptors ‘lurking,’ but they also feel they can put together the best package of assets the Brooklyn Nets are likely to get,” Michael Grange of Sportsnet reported.
“Confidence isn’t the word for it, but optimism might be.
“There is also a sense – though it’s reading tea leaves at this stage, as teams can’t communicate directly with Durant, who remains under contract with the Nets – that the two-time champion and 11-time all-NBA force of nature is at least open to the possibility of playing in Toronto.”

The Raptors have a ton of intriguing pieces to offer the Nets, including Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr.
They also have reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, Scottie Barnes. However, it’s believed that the Raptors would be unwilling to part with the 20-year-old budding superstar in any sort of deal.
