Well, it looks like we won’t be seeing Stephen curry for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
Curry underwent surgery a week ago to repair a broken left hand and the team announced he would be out at least three months, but it seems like that timeline has been extended even further.
Per a report from Ric Bucher at Bleacher Report, “A team source says the fracture was worse than originally thought, and it’s unlikely that he plays again this season.”
Curry suffered a broken left hand against the Phoenix Suns when he collided with Aron Baynes while driving to the rim, which caused him to try and break his fall with his hands. He immediately grabbed his left wrist after Baynes landed on top of him.
The Warriors have struggled at the start of the season, going 2–6 with a roster that resembles nothing like it looked over the past few season.
Kevin Durant is gone to Brooklyn. Shaun Livingston is retired, Andre Iguodala is currently inactive for the Grizzlies, and although Klay Thompson is still with the team, he is expected to miss the majority of the season as well.
If the team continues to trend downwards, there is no reason for their top stars to come back to play in a lost season.
