According to a recent post by Adrian Wojnarowski, an American sports columnist and NBA insider for ESPN, on X (formerly known as Twitter), the Brooklyn Nets will hire Sacramento Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez as their next head coach.
“Jordi Fernandez has emerged as the Brooklyn Nets’ choice to become the franchise’s next coach, separating himself in a wide, month-long search that now has the Nets prepared to hire the Sacramento Kings’ top assistant.” Adrian wrote this in his post.
Fernandez joined the Kings just before the 2018 season and played a pivotal role in leading them to their first postseason appearance in more than two decades. During the same season, the league recognized Mike Brown, the Kings’ head coach, as the Coach of the Year. Following this, Fernandez helped the Kings finish the season with a 46-36 record and advance to the NBA play-in round.

Jordi Fernandez has an impressive coaching journey yet
The Nets have had significant changes in their coaching staff in recent years. During the 2018-19 season, Sean Marks dismissed Kenny Atkinson, his first head coach appointment in Brooklyn, as the team shifted from rebuilding to contending with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
After over two seasons, the Nets lost interest in Atkinson, and Steve Nash took his place. Fernandez, born in Barcelona and now the Canadian national team coach, has had an impressive coaching journey.
