A change of jersey might be on offer for Giannis Antetokounmpo. With the Bucks winning the title in 2021, their run in the NBA has been somewhat subdued. Despite qualifying for the playoffs, Antetokounmpo and his team could not make it to the finals. Thus, with Antetokounmpo once again impressing this season, rival team executives are keeping a close eye on the Bucks’ star.
According to a recent update from ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, several rival teams have shown interest in acquiring Antetokounmpo. They want the services of the 2x NBA MVP for the long term and, thus, are on the lookout for an early playoff exit for the Bucks. As a matter of fact, the Milwaukee-based team has done everything in its power to turn things around for the good.

The Bucks roped in Damian Lillard last fall to bolster their team. Unfortunately, with Antetokounmpo sidelined due to injury, the Bucks won only a single game in last year’s NBA playoffs. Meanwhile, another renowned ESPN reporter, Shams Charania, has an entirely different opinion about the matter.
Shams Charania Believes Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Won’t Happen Now
Giannis Antetokounmpo is once again making a strong case for his MVP chances. The Bucks’ star has been averaging a stupendous 32.7 points per game, along with an average of 6 assists and 11.6 rebounds per game. Thus, it is only normal for teams to love to have such an explosive athlete in their ranks.
"There will be no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade this season. Between the Cup & moving forward… his priority is putting himself in a position where he can have long-term sustained winning wherever that may be. Right now, it's Milwaukee."

However, ESPN’s Shams Charania recently had a completely different take on the trade rumors. According to Charania, Antetokounmpo will be staying with the Bucks. “There will be no Giannis Antetokounmpo trade this season,” opined Charania. Thus, with things getting interesting in and around Giannis Antetokounmpo, it remains to be seen whether the trade actually takes place.
