Anthony Davis might be wanting to exit from the New Orleans Pelicans, but that doesn’t mean he’ll get his wish before the trade deadline this season.
Despite the multiple reports of numerous teams having interest in acquiring the superstar player, longtime Pelicans general manager Dell Demps is “not picking up his phone,” a source told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Toronto Raptors are among the teams linked to wanting Davis on their squad. Davis and his agent, Rich Paul, are reportedly expected to inform every team in the league of their stance of not re-signing with anybody that isn’t the Lakers.
On Tuesday, it was also reported that Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich had been in contact with Demps to inform him not to ‘cave in’ to the Lakers.
He must be listening.
