The NBA landscape was shaken recently when the Dallas Mavericks traded franchise cornerstone Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis. The deal proves that no move is too big if it addresses a team’s struggles. The ripple effects of this blockbuster trade are being felt across the league as other teams are re-evaluating their rosters. Among them, the Golden State Warriors are in the spotlight.
A report from Brian Windhorst of ESPN has revealed that, ahead of the February 6 trade deadline, the Warriors consider only one player untouchable on their roster. The player is none other than Stephen Curry.

Windhorst’s report suggests that every other player could potentially be moved if the right deal comes along. It came after Draymond Green recently said anything is possible ahead of the deadline following Doncic’s unexpected trade.
Curry signed a four-year, $215 million contract extension in 2022 and later added a one-year extension. This latest extension ensures Curry will remain with the franchise through the 2026-27 NBA season.
The Warriors star’s number backs up the team’s trust in him. This season, he is averaging 22.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.

“I would love nothing more than to coach Steph for the rest of his career because that’s what he means to me. If he told me, ‘I want you to coach me another year,’ as long as the Warriors agreed, I’m doing it. It’s automatic. I’m not even giving it a second thought,” Kerr said.
Since Kerr became the Warriors’ head coach in 2014, the duo has won four NBA championships. For Kerr, coaching Curry is about more than just basketball. It is the trust and relationship they’ve built over nearly a decade.
