The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers are “actively engaged” in trade discussions involving Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook, sources told Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
Haynes adds that there is “optimism” that a deal can be completed.
The Nets want draft compensation and Joe Harris included in the deal, with the Lakers seeking Seth Curry instead of Harris.
“Draft compensation is an ongoing talking point for the Nets and they want Joe Harris…included in the deal…The Lakers have been disinclined to the inclusion of Harris, and are instead seeking the insertion of Seth Curry as part of the arrangement”
The Nets reportedly will not be rushed into making the trade so they get the right compensation.
