Over the past week or so, there has been heavy speculation about Michelle Beadle and her future at ESPN following the end of the NBA’s 2018-19 season. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post decided to add even more uncertainty to her future with a new report released on Tuesday.
Beadle’s future at ESPN is reportedly “in peril,” according to the New York Post’s media insider.
Marchand adds that the host of ESPN’s NBA Countdown might not return to that role in 2019-20 and it’s not just an on-air thing.
“Her failure to promote the program on outside venues combined with her virtual no-show to the much-hyped morning show “Get Up!” has branded her a bad teammate and put her position in question,” he reports.
It was just last week when SportsByBroooks.com reported that Beadle would not return to the show, with Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce also departing.
ESPN addressed that report in a statement:

Beadle has been the full-time host of ESPN’s NBA pregame show since leaving Get Up! in 2018.
Rachel Nichols or Maria Taylor are reportedly in the running to take over for her going forward.
Meanwhile, Beadle has since shot down reports of her much rumored departure.
The Worldwide Leader keeps trying drastically to have a show like TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” which features Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaq, but anything they have tried has fallen flat to the viewing audience.
