This NBA offseason saw some surprising moves, with veterans like Klay Thompson, Paul George, DeMar DeRozan, and Chris Paul switching teams. However, the Los Angeles Lakers took a quieter approach, staying out of the spotlight without making any major roster additions, which garnered criticism for them.
Nevertheless, it seems the Lakers are waiting for the right opportunity to make a move. Recently, Jovan Buha of The Athletic speculated on possible trade targets for the Lakers and mentioned Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler as a player to keep an eye on. Buha highlighted how Kessler could be a valuable asset for the Lakers, either as a starter or coming off the bench.
“I think we need more time to see which guys become available. Walker Kessler is a name that the Lakers have been interested in that would make a lot of sense and would allow you to either start a two-big look or probably more realistically bring him off the bench,” Buha said.
Kessler is entering his third season with the Jazz. He averaged 8.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks in his two seasons with Utah.
