The Los Angeles Lakers’ four-game winning streak came to a sudden halt on Tuesday as they suffered a 118-104 loss to Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Lakers struggled heavily, most notably when star center Anthony Davis left the game early due to injury.
This loss comes at a time when Davis had recently spoken out about the need for the Lakers to improve their roster. In an interview with Shams Charania, Davis voiced his concerns, specifically calling for the team to acquire a new center.
It seems the Lakers have taken those words seriously. According to ClutchPoints reporter Anthony F. Irwin, the Lakers have been actively discussing potential moves for a center, and the Indiana Pacers’ Myles Turner has emerged as a prime target.

Prices on Valanciunas and Vucevic were too high, leading to the Lakers checking in on Turner.
Story coming for @ClutchPoints.
Turner is enjoying a solid season, averaging 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. His defensive prowess would be a valuable addition to the Lakers’ roster, especially as Davis is currently dealing with injuries.
Meanwhile, former Lakers star Dwight Howard has made cryptic post suggesting he’d be open to a return to Los Angeles. Howard played a key role in the Lakers’ 2020 NBA Championship victory, and he has openly expressed his interest in suiting up for the team again.
