LeBron James’ Uninterrupted, Inc. is looking to trademark the phrase “Shut Up and Dribble.”
The athlete empowerment brand hopes to use the phrase on “downloadable virtual goods, namely, computer programs featuring footwear, clothing, headwear, eyewear, bags, sports bags, backpacks, sports equipment, art, toys, and accessories for use online and in online virtual worlds.”
The application also lists video, social media posts, music, and games as other possible uses for the phrase.
As you may remember, the phrase “Shut Up and Dribble” became a hot topic of discussion when Fox News host Laura Ingram used it in a response to James’ comments about the political climate of the United States back in 2018.
“We will definitely not shut up and dribble,” James said in response during the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend.
“I will definitely not do that. I mean too much to society, I mean too much to the youth, I mean too much to so many kids that feel like they don’t have a way out and they need someone to help lead them out of the situation they’re in.”
