When LeBron James wants a change to happen, changes will happen.
The Los Angeles Lakers are currently 9th in the Western Conference and quickly falling as they can do almost nothing with LeBron James out with injury.
The team not only wants to make a big splash before the trade deadline to get another superstar, but it seems there might be a change with the head coach.
ESPN senior writer Jackie MacMullan joined the Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective podcast on Friday and revealed that LeBron James’ camp would prefer there be a change with Luke Walton being the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
“It’s clear to me, and probably to you, Brian, that LeBron’s camp would prefer a coaching change—they’re not too subtle about that,” MacMullan said per transcribed remarks from Score NBA news editor Chicco Nacion.
“Not LeBron, but all the people around LeBron. There’s plenty of them and they’ve made it known. I don’t think this is a shock, is it?”
The Lakers dropped to 25-24 on the year after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday.
