Last offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made the biggest acquisition for the franchise in a long time when they signed LeBron James to a 4-year deal. Within the next 24 hours, the team could have could have another superstar if New Orleans plays ball.
If not, the team seems to have another plan in place to land a coveted free agent.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Lakers are hoping the Golden State Warriors don’t offer Klay Thompson a max deal, and if they don’t, they’ll be right there to give him what he wants and bring him to Los Angeles.
This scenario seems more ideal as the Lakers basically are trying to gut the entire squad as well with multiple draft picks to acquire Anthony Davis. Multiple reports have already suggested that the Pelicans are not playing nice with them and have still not sent a counter offer to them as to what it would take to acquire the superstar.
