Last offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made the biggest acquisition in for the franchise in a long time when they signed LeBron James to a 4-year deal. Within the next few days and possibly this offseason, the team could have as many as 3 superstars on the team.
If the Los Angeles Lakers pull the trigger and land New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis before the trade deadline, two-way shooting guard Klay Thompson could possibly turn his attention to joining LeBron if the Golden State Warriors don’t offer him the max deal, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on SportsCenter Monday night, citing a source.
Thompson has long been linked to his hometown of Los Angeles, which is where his father, Mychal Thompson, played a supporting role on two of the Showtime Lakers’ title-winning campaigns in the late 1980s.
