Following their disappointing defeat by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the opening round of the playoffs, disturbing rumors have started circulating about the Phoenix Suns team. According to sources who spoke with Shams Charania and Doug Haller of The Athletic, Kevin Durant never felt comfortable playing in the Phoenix Suns’ offense alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
Durant’s continuous issues put him in a tough spot as the offense relied heavily on teamwork rather than his individual talents. Many of Durant’s teammates and others within the organization believe that he should have directly addressed his concerns with Frank Vogel.
According to Shams Charania of ‘The Athletic,’ “Durant never felt comfortable with his role in Phoenix’s offense alongside Booker and Beal this season; Durant had persistent issues with the offense, feeling that he was being relegated to the corner far too often and not having the proper designs to play to his strengths as the offense was built around pick-and-rolls.”

Kevin Durant remained one of the league’s top players
The Suns didn’t consistently play with the necessary intensity or passion. Other teams in the NBA, typically mirror the behavior of their coach. While Phoenix’s defense showed improvement, their team chemistry wasn’t always great.
They would perform exceptionally well one day and then play with indifference the next. Despite finishing the regular season with a 49-33 record, their weaknesses were revealed in crucial games. Kevin Durant remained one of the league’s top players, scoring 27.1 points per game.

However, his shot accuracy decreased from the previous season. Even though he’s unhappy with the offense, it’s impressive that he can still put up such impressive numbers. Unfortunately, the fact that this news broke out so soon after the Suns’ defeat isn’t a good sign for Durant.
Booker and Beal primarily dominated the ball in an offense, leaving Durant in the corner most of the time. When he had the ball, he usually took a difficult shot, heavily guarded by a defender.
