The Jimmy Butler-Miami Heat saga has finally come to an end. It is now known that Jimmy Butler will be donning the jersey of the Golden State Warriors from now on. However, a new story has given the trade an interesting twist. Butler was traded for Andrew Wiggins. Now, at face value, this piece of news alone does not seem enticing. However, back in 2019, it was the same Andrew Wiggins that Jimmy Butler termed as the most talented player in the NBA. How about that for an irony?
Well, with the trade being completed, several new updates have emerged on Jimmy Butler’s time with the Heat. Likewise, one such news from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. According to the news, the NBA athlete and Pat Riley were celebrating Butler’s signing over a bottle of wine. When Riley asked the 35-year-old who he thought was the best player, Butler answered- Andrew Wiggins!
“Riley was surprised, those who were in the room remembered, and joked that Butler might need to be cut off from any more wine. But Butler insisted. Wiggins’ talent was incredible. Five years later, they were traded for each other,” wrote Windhorst.

Surely, this was a surprising revelation, to say the least. But as of now, Jimmy Butler’s chapter with the Miami Heat is well and truly over. Coming into a new setting, he is being welcomed by none other than Stephen Curry.
