Paul George made headlines this offseason when he joined the Philadelphia 76ers after reportedly influenced by financial advice from rapper Lil Dicky. However, since signing with the team, George has been more visible on his podcast, Podcast P with Paul George, than on the basketball court.
George launched his podcast on March 6, 2023, and while it has gained popularity, his commitment to Philadelphia’s title hopes has been questioned. A recent report revealed that since joining the 76ers, he has uploaded 228 podcast clips while playing only 32 games.
George’s on-court production has been modest, averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He has made 197 field goals in those appearances, which obviously fall short of expectations for a star player.

Injuries have played a role in his limited availability. George recently missed five straight games due to injury. Upon returning, he struggled offensively, scoring just nine points in his first game back and 14 in the next. These performances have added concerns about whether the 76ers are getting the best version of the veteran forward.
Kendrick Perkins Calls For 76ers To Trade Joel Embiid And Paul George
The 76ers were expected to be a powerhouse this season with their star trio of Joel Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey. However, injuries to Embiid and George have left the team struggling, leading to a disappointing 20-31 record. As a result, ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has made a bold suggestion to trade both Embiid and George.
“Trade them both. We’ve been talking about where Kevin Durant is gonna go this offseason with the Phoenix Suns. Same with the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid and Paul George and both in Tyrese Maxey’s way,” Perkins said.

Perkins believes that Maxey, who has been carrying the team in their absence, deserves the chance to be the clear leader of the 76ers. With the season slipping away, the 76ers may have tough decisions to make. Whether they listen to Perkins’ advice remains to be seen, but Philadelphia fans are eager to see their team turn things around.
