Paul George has become the biggest talk of the summer with his potential trade speculations. The 10-time NBA All-Star has decided to opt out of his $48.7 million player option. This gives the Philadelphia 76ers prime opportunity to target Paul George in free agency, and Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquisitor believes that will be the case.
“If he comes to Philly, sources believe George will help recruit solid role players for the Sixers’ pursuit of an NBA championship-caliber roster,” the NBA insider said.
It comes as contradictory to other reports where Shams Charania of the Athletic claimed that Sixers’ interest in Paul George has waned. The Sixers have a cap space of $65 million, so giving PG13 would not be a problem.
But the Sixers are not the only team interested in George. According to rumors, the Warriors are also interested, and interested teams from both East and West are converging on the former Pacers forward.
Paul George Planning to Talk to Multiple Franchises
Paul George’s decision to become an unrestricted free agent isn’t surprising. The Clippers star reportedly plans to contact the prospects next.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, “Paul George plans to speak with the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic starting late Sunday night, pacific time after free agency opens, sources tell The Athletic and Stadium.”

The Clippers were reluctant to provide George with his preferred four-year max $221 million contract. They did approach PG-13 with a three-year, $153 million deal, which didn’t suit him.
For a 34-year-old, George still has a lot of potential left, which he could contribute to his future team. With his veteran presence, he could also boost inexperienced squads. A final settlement on the future can be reached after his meet-ups with the Eastern franchises.
