Could you imagine Luka Dončić being pared with the likes of Bradley Beal?
The Dallas Mavericks reportedly are trying to make that happen as they have discussed trading for Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal.
“Bradley Beal is a name often discussed by Dallas Mavericks watchers as a perfect target for owner Mark Cuban’s ‘Nuclear Winter’ plan of talent acquisition,” Sports Illustrated’s Mike Fisher writes.
“In Dallas, the pursuit is all about ‘a third star,’ and Beal – the Washington Wizards standout who last year finished second in the NBA in points per game (30.5) – would actually qualify as something even more than that on a team featuring Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis,” Fisher wrote.
The 27-year-old Beal is coming off a season where he averaged 30.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.
Doncic led the Mavs to the playoffs, but got bounced in the first round by the Los Angeles Clippers. Many can look to Porzingis injury in the series as determining the final outcome.
Beal could be that one piece that need.
