Anthony Davis has now warned every team in the league of his intentions as he goes through the trade process.
Davis and his agent Rich Paul are reportedly expected to inform teams in the league that he only intends to join the Los Angeles Lakers and would not re-sign anywhere else if another team swoops in and tries to get him off the New Orleans Pelicans roster, league sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
…multiple league sources expect the agent and star to soon deliver word throughout the league that Davis’ preferred destination is the Lakers and he’ll become a rental player until 2020 with a trade anywhere else.
It would be an attempt to depress offers in the marketplace, a way to perhaps make the Lakers’ trade package more appealing.
It was just 24 hours ago where Rich Paul, who represents both Davis & LeBron, informed the Pelicans front office that his client had formally put in his request to be traded.
With reports of Kyrie Irving possibly not signing an extension in Boston as well as Klay Thompson possibly leaving the Warriors in the offseason, the Lakers could be the next great thing running for years to come.
