Joel Embiid is not feeling comfortable hopping around the NBA court at the moment. His knee, which caused him significant struggles last year, has reportedly come back to bother him again. While the 76ers lost their recent game 127-135 to the Milwaukee Bucks, a report from ABC raised concerns about Embiid. It stated that the NBA athlete feels that he might have to opt for yet another surgery on his knee.
However, Embiid also stated that he would like to wait until the season ends to see how things are. While interacting with the media after the game, Embiid hinted that surgery might be on the cards in the off-season.
“I think the straightforward answer is that when you’ve got something that’s inconsistent, at some point, you’ve got to do something about it,” Embiid clarified. He further added, “We don’t know what it is. We’re looking into every option.

After tearing his meniscus on the left knee last season, Embiid played just 39 games. He went under the knife back in February 2024 and featured in the Olympic gold-winning team. Sadly, the problems with his knee came back, and Embiid had to sit out for 15 games. Meanwhile, former NBA star Kendrick Perkins has given harsh advice to the 76ers.
Kendrick Perkins Wants The 76ers To Trade Joel Embiid
Both Joel Embiid and Paul George have been the backbone of the Philadelphia 76ers. However, owing to their poor form, there has been some significant noise regarding their future in the team. Taking the criticism to the next level, Kendrick Perkins seemed quite dismissive of the star duo.
“Trade them both..We’ve been talking about where Kevin Durant is gonna go this offseason with the Phoenix Suns. Same thing with the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid and Paul George are both in Tyrese Maxey’s way,” said Perkins.
