The Los Angeles Lakers might very well get their wish of trading Russell Westbrook.
Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, “Utah, New York, and Indiana are among the teams who have discussed deals with the Lakers involving Russell Westbrook and draft capital, sources said. There appears no deal imminent in those conversations — as the overall trade market plays out over the next two months of the offseason.”
Surprisingly, the Nets are on not on that list even though they’ve been heavily linked to a trade for Kyrie Irving. LeBron James reportedly wants to reunite with his former teammate.
According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, James, Davis and Westbrook reportedly had a phone conversation earlier this month “each expressing their commitment to one another and vowing to make it work.”
The team did not fare well as they finished 11th in the Western Conference with a 33-49 record.

Westbrook did have a very good season as he averaged only 18 points a game while shooting 44% from the floor. His 18 points a night was the lowest it’s been since 2009 when he was in Oklahoma City.
Westbrook is set to earn $47.1 million this season.
