The Philadelphia 76ers entered the 2024-25 NBA season with high expectations after acquiring Paul George in the offseason. However, their campaign has been marred by inconsistency and injuries. George, along with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, missed significant time due to various injuries, with Embiid’s absence even leading to a league fine for the team.
Despite these challenges, the Sixers have shown signs of improvement, winning three of their last four games. They now hold a 7-15 record, sitting in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. However, this underwhelming performance has sparked trade speculation involving several of their key players.

Among the players under scrutiny are Caleb Martin, Kelly Oubre Jr., and Reggie Jackson, whose performances this season have been less than stellar. Martin, appearing in 20 games, has averaged 8.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists.
Oubre Jr. has contributed slightly better numbers, averaging 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Meanwhile, Jackson has struggled to make an impact, playing just 10 games and averaging 4.3 points, 0.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
With the NBA trade deadline set for February 6, the Sixers have a critical opportunity to make changes. By trading some of their underperforming players, they could acquire fresh talent to bolster both their offense and defense. Such moves could help the team build on their recent momentum and turn their season around.
