The future of Jimmy Butler with the Miami Heat remains uncertain as contract extension talks have yet to take place. While Butler has expressed some interest in the Brooklyn Nets, reports suggest that a deal with the Heat is unlikely.
Meanwhile, former NBA shooting guard Rashad McCants added more woes to Butler’s situation, targeting his performance against the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals. During an appearance on Gil’s Arena podcast, McCants boldly claimed that Butler is “overrated”, particularly for his lackluster showing in the finals.
“You can’t give a man credit for being that man, and when we get here, we’re like, ‘Where’d that man go?’” McCants said.
The Denver Nuggets ultimately took home the trophy, winning the series 4-1 in the 2023 NBA Finals. Butler averaged 21.6 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game.
